312,280 more cars recalled worldwide, bringing GM's global recall total to 29,079,765.

The biggest recall is for 2002-04 model year Saturn Vue models. 215,243 units worldwide (read: US and Canada) for an issue with...you guessed it...the ignition.

But, instead of the problem being with knocking the key out of position and shutting the engine off unintentionally, it's about the key being able to be removed when not in the OFF position.

Next is a worldwide recall of 72,826 2013 Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Trax, and Buick Encore models for a lap belt pretensioner problem.

15,386 2014-15 Chevrolet Impalas are being recalled for a front console storage compartment that can come open in a collision, and a stop sale has been put into effect as well.

Note: This only applies to LT and LTZ models. If you have or plan to buy an LS trim level 14-15 Impala, you're fine.

2,091 2009-10 Chevrolet Aveo, 2009 Pontiac G3/Wave (Canada), and 2007 Chevrolet Optra (Canada) models are being recalled because brake fluid in these vehicles can eventually cause longer pedal travel and reduced braking effectiveness.

3,110 2014 Chevrolet Spark models are being recalled for bolts that attach the left and right lower control arms that might not be torqued to specification. Dealers will inspect these bolts and tighten them if necessary.

Lastly, another recall for owners of exported Cadillac ATS models, this time for 2013-14 models that were exported, for issues with lighting.

More information about the recalls can be found in the press release in the link above.

I got a recall on my 2007 Mercury Milan yesterday in the mail.

Man I was worried

Then I opened it up and it was for the Accessory add-on All Weather Floor Mats.

I stopped being worried and threw it in the trash lol

why not 2005 equinox. Damn thing is a pain in the ass. Wouldn't turn a couple years ago during winter. Had it replaced for $370 and new one is going out, hard to remove, won't restart without key removal.

Technically a different issue than what you're dealing with, but also because this is for the 2002-04 Vue.

The 2005 model year (same year the Equinox was introduced) brought various changes, including a new steering wheel (and likely new steering column and ignition).

On top of that, the Equinox is based on the LWB version of the Theta platform, where the Vue is based on the SWB version, so there's bound to be some other mechanical differences.
